Then we think perhaps you’ll fall just as hard in love with this egg decorating idea from BHG as we did. The concept is simple: cover the entire egg in coloured glitter for maximum sparkle power!

2. Sprinkle eggs

Do you love the idea of covering your Easter egg in something a little bit unconventional and textured but you’d rather not cover your entire home in glitter trying to make them sparkle just right? Then Studio DIY suggests using sprinkles instead! Yes, you read that correctly; the same colourful sprinkles that you’d spatter across the top of a cupcake make an awesome Easter egg craft.

3. Glow in the dark eggs

Are your kids going through an awesome space or dinosaur phase where they’re obsessed with the idea of other-worldly creatures hatching from eggs rather than cute little animals like baby chicks? Then get them really interested in your Easter crafts by helping them make awesome glow in the dark eggs instead! Using white or clear wax stops the dye or paint from clinging to certain parts of the shell and that’s where your pretty patterns will come from.

7. Washi tape eggs

Are you looking for a way to decorate eggs with your family that’s not only quick and easy but also close to mess free? Then put down the dyes and paints for now and instead grab some brightly coloured or patterned washi tape and some scissors! Lovely Indeed suggests cutting the tape into geometric pieces and sticking them onto your egg’s shell to create all kinds of fun designs!

8. Ombre dyed eggs

Perhaps you’d actually like to use the classic Easter egg dying method but you’re just looking for a colour combination or design to do that’s a little more stylish or unconventional than what you’ve done in previous years? Then try playing with the intensity of your dye to get lighter and darker tones of the same shade! Do you love the idea of creating intricate patterns on your Easter eggs like we talked about above but you’re not confident in your ability to make small enough details with the wax or crayon? Dye your eggs a subtle shade first and then place a paper doily against the shell and painted over it so the negative space in the lace pattern creates pretty dotted designs on the shell instead!

10. Golden marbled eggs

Did you love the idea of using shining gold to design a very chic Easter egg but you’re not sure you’re quite ready to try the foil method? Then metallic paint is still a fantastic option, especially if you follow this awesome tutorial on She Knows. Rather than simply painting the entire eggs gold or even sponging the paint on, they suggest dying each egg a different shade and then applying the paint in a marbled effect on top for accent.

11. Botanical stencil eggs

Perhaps the idea that’s stuck out to you the most so far is the stenciling idea but lace is a little too fancy for your tastes? Try creating a stencil around a shape instead! We’re absolutely in love with the way this Martha Stewart tutorial suggests sticking a small leaf or plant to the surface of the egg shell and painting or dying around it so that when you peel the leaf off, its silhouette is left amidst the colour in a crisp, lovely white. This idea is particularly perfect for welcoming spring into your home!

12. Geometric design eggs

We already talked about a few different methods for creating different lined and geometric shaped designs on the shells of your Easter eggs, but this one might be the most fun. Use strips of tape in different thicknesses to mark off certain woven patterns across your egg and then dip the egg into different coloured dyes. Now that I think about it, I really haven’t done enough crafting with lasagna noodles in my life. I love the way Funny Crafts used them here as a base for building a train out of all kinds of different noodles. Later them or stack other shapes on top of them, but make sure you use that flat noodle surface to the best of your ability!

I’m particularly into the idea of using these little heart shape noodles.

11. Pasta dinosaurs

For very little kids, they often have the most fun just gluing and sticking pasta noodles to a page in order to make a picture. I love this idea from Muslim Learning Garden of printing out a simple, basic outline of something your child loves, like this dinosaur, and letting them practice hand eye coordination by neatly gluing pasta noodles all along the outline to make the shape.

12. Pasta butterfly “flowers”

Have you ever looked at little pasta bow ties and thought about how there are probably a thousand neat little trinkets you can make out of them? I think about this a lot more than I probably should, if I’m being honest. Mother Earth Living, however, has a great suggestion for transforming the bow ties into absolutely adorable little butterflies! To display the butterflies, I love their idea of attaching each painted creature to a toothpick place in a tiny plant pot.

13. Clay and pasta snails

I already showed you how to transform these giant seashell noodles into butterflies, but perhaps bugs with wings aren’t really your thing? These snails are another completely adorable way to use them. Paint the large seashell noodle to look like a snail’s shell and then create the actual snail out of clay. Coin Counting Easter Activity. This will give your kids plenty of practice to count the coins and match them correctly with the written amounts on these Easter eggs.source

Easter Egg Spoon Balancing Activity. This balancing activity is so funny. Handle a wooden spoon to balance the Easter egg, make sure that you can’t drop the Easter egg. I like this idea for it can train the balance ability for kids.source

Easter Egg Painting Activity. Add a bit of water paint into the Easter eggs. Make sure that the color of the paint matches with the color of the egg. You can design you painting by cracking open the egg and let the paint ooze out.source

Flower toss. Throw colorful pom poms at these flowers and try to get them land in the center of these flowers. It’s a good way to train you shooting ability.source

Easter Bunny Cover Up.This is an interesting estimating game, use different sizes of pom poms to cover parts of the bunny’s face. The most challenging part is that you have to estimate how many you need. Just see how close you can be and your estimating skills can be improved in this way.source

Easter Egg Dominoes Activity. Use a tape or market to divide the cardstock with Easter egg shape in two parts, choose 10 pairs of stickers of different colors. Each pair has the same color. Stick them on cardstock at both sides from the middle line. Select a card and find the matching card with the same stick to go ahead.source

Matching Sound Game. Fill the plastic Easter eggs with different materials such as dry pinto beans, small pasta, gems, pom poms, tiny puzzle pieces and pebbles to vary the sounds they make. The kid pick the egg and shake it, then find another one. If sounds the same as the former one, put the pair in the carton side by side. If they have different sound, just leave them off to the side. source

Stacking Easter Egg Game. Stack all the Easter egg halves, the one who make the tallest tower is the winner. Stack all the Easter eggs straight on their bottoms without dropping them.source

Easter Chalk. Fill the Easter egg with water by taking apart into two sections and close it to trap the water inside. Take the egg out with the hole facing up to prevent the water from leaking and put it in an egg carton. Freeze it overnight. You can write down whatever you like.source

Easter Egg Color Matching. Use the kids-friendly chopsticks to grab the pom pom and put it into the Easter egg half of the same color. This simple matching game is a good way to train your motor skills.source

Easter Egg Toss Activity. Divide all the players into groups, with 2 players in each group standing 5 feet apart. Toss the raw egg from one player to another. Continue the game without breaking the eggs. Each player should take one step backward after the successful catching. You win if you are the only team left.source

Easter Bunny Ball Toss Activity. Use a huge carton-box and make it into the Easter bunny shape. Leave a big fan-shaped hole and glue its tongue from red-painted cardboard. Stand five feet from the Easter Bunny carton and throw colorful balls toward it. Count how many balls you can throw in.source

Pin the Tail on the Bunny. Cut the colorful Easter bunny after printing out. Add the rough side of our Velcro to the bottom of each cute bunny. Ask you kid to add the pom poms for each bunny to make the tail. Make sure that the pom poms have the same color of the bunny.source

Easter Blow Art Painting. Put colorful paints into different containers. Put dabs of paint using a dropper and blow with straw all over the egg. Your kids will enjoy this busts of color creation idea.source
